November 2012

Alright, I know. It has been almost an entire year since I last blogged. Sorry. But here I am, finally with everything I need to get blogging. So get ready for a years worth of blogging, right here, right now. :)

November was a great month! My favorite month actually. We spent a lot of time at my parent's house helping them redo their upstairs. They knocked a hole in the wall of the living room to open up the upstairs in time for Thanksgiving (my favorite!). Then they built a wall by the stairs rather than having a wobbly railing still. They also replaced the linoleum with tile looking linoleum and we painted the kitchen, hall, and living room. And they got new carpet on the stairs and in the hallway. Oh yeah, we also took out the tile in the entry way (THAT TOOK FOREVER) and added chair rails and replaced the baseboards. It was a lot of fun helping out so much and it looks AMAZING! I didn't take before pictures unfortunately, and our old camera was super crappy, so please excuse the poor image quality and blurry pictures.

Paxton got his 1 year vaccinations. He ended up having a mild reaction with a fever about a week later-during our construction project below. It helped because he took long naps, but it was hard because he wanted to be held all the time instead of just watching us. Poor guy.

Paxton playing while we painted and broke tile.

We had to smash the tile up with a hammer and then under the tile was this black plastic mesh that we had to pull out (it was nailed down REALLY well) and then we had to pull all of the staples out that were holding down some nasty old paper crap under it all. This part took like 5 hours. It took forever! My hands KILLED from pounding with the hammer and from tediously pulling out little staples with pliers.

Hot-tie!

The black mesh crap

One of my piles of staples and long nails I had pulled up. All of us (mom, dad, Trev, me, Emily, and Dallin) did this for almost 2 hours.

Paxton learning to eat with a spoon

Cute Willy reading to Paxton. Paxton loves Willy. In fact, I think all of the little kids do. Willy always goes out of his way to help with the little kids and to make them happy. He's so cute.
The night before Thanksgiving of the finished project. It was completely finished and put back together the night before thanksgiving. :) Here are pictures of all of it from different angles. :)

My mom didn't put books back until the little kids were gone after Thanksgiving.

Mom got a little fancy...

The new picture wall. They are magnet boards and everyone has their own square to put pictures of their family in.

Basically, it looks so great! And it worked well for Thanksgiving with our huge family that keeps on growing. Thanksgiving was so much fun with everyone there but Derek (In Sweden on his LDS mission) and Lizzy (living in Michigan) and her family (who we missed LOTS).

Paxton turns 1!!!!

Our Paxton turned one about a week ago! Crazy! I can't believe it's already been a year... but a great year it's been. Some things that Paxton is up to nowadays:

Here is a picture of his teeth. Hahahahaha. He had 6 teeth at about 8? months old and got his 7th tooth the day before he turned one. :)
This is just a cute picture of Paxton swinging...in August?
He LOVES reading! He probably reads for at least 2 hours total a day! I'm so grateful because it's cute and quiet.
We blocked off the fan because he loves sticking his fingers in there and also unplugging things and then I found him one day in the area that's blocked off. The little sneaker found his way under the crib. I hate when they get sneaky...:) But seriously, he loves unplugging things and getting into EVERYTHING now that he is mobile.
The cute boy also loves playing the keyboard, and used to play for around 20-30 minutes a day until he couldn't stop unplugging it and eating the plug so now the cord is on top of a bookshelf...
I did Yoga one day and starting the next day he was doing THIS. Down dog pose anyone?! Haha. He did it CONSTANTLY for like a week or so. Hilarious.
He has LOVED playing with the light that comes through the holes in our blinds. He gets very confused when he moves and they disappear. Haha.
He LOVES the ties in  all of our quilts...esp the one he is attacking in this picture that his Grandma Steiner made him. He bites and pulls on them as hard as he can. I usually find at least 3 yarn ties around his crib or on the carpet everyday. He's...special. ;)
He has learned how to walk (a little before turning 11 months old) and still looks like he is going to fall over with each step. haha.
He loves playing with the couch cushions.
He LOVES LOVES LOVES baseball caps and his winnie the pooh winter hat . He wears them all over and gets so proud. It's so so cute! (And here he is with one of his favorite toys...a rubber spatula)
He LOVES other kids. I babysit for my sister-in-law three times a week while she goes to school. Here are all the crazies. Our apt is very boring, so you can see the exercise ball is a huge hit and the pillow accidentally left out on the couch. haha. Paxton loves when they are over!
We went to Grandma and Grandpa Day's to celebrate with some of his cousins and aunts and uncles and had cupcakes. (pictures are blurry...sorry).

Here he is with his cupcake and his favorite...daddy!
Paxton LOVES when we read to him...especially Trevor when he gets home from his all day shifts at work...
And Paxton LOVES leaves. He goes around and picks them up and eats them.  And his other favorite thing (since he was a newborn) is watching people. He is nosey and always watching people and wanting to be part of the action. Haha. I didn't know things like that could be inherited...sorry Pax.
We love our Paxton and absolutely LOVE having him in our family. He is getting cuter and more fun all of the time. We have been so blessed to have a very chill baby that is easy and not high maintenance, which has helped as we were both in school...esp when I was. We are so grateful for him and all that he adds to our family! :)

As of late....since August...

Well, a random overview of our last 2 1/2 months of living in Utah, that are actually captured on camera (which is not very much)...

My BEAUTIFUL friend Kaitlin Wimmer got MARRIED!!! To Clayton Davis. It was a wonderful sealing and I'm so happy that she is SO happy!!! :)
Us with the beautiful bride and groom! :)
So Trev went out for an interview for a PA school in West Virginia. Long story shot, they told him he would have gotten in if he had applied earlier, but another PA school in WV lost it's accreditation and their 60 PA students got kicked out of their program half way through and all applied about the same time Trev did. So Trev got an interview, but you really can't compete against students who have already been through half of a PA masters program. So....the waiting continues. We have applied to other schools and will see if it works out even though we applied quite late in the cycle....
Trevor stayed with Clayton's brother (so..Kaitlin's (above) brother-in-law and sister-in-law). A HUGE thanks to them for driving Trevor, letting him sleep at their house, and for their hospitality and kindness! :)
Here are pictures of Charleston that he took while there...it's BEAUTIFUL!

A large part of Charleston from the airplane window.
Our favorite thing to do since coming here is to go up the trail that goes by Bridal Veil Falls. We realized we live SOOOO close to Provo canyon and try to go on Trevor's days off and walk for a while. The fall weather is BEAUTIFUL up there!!!
Our ADORABLE Paxton!!! :)
Trevor's brother and his wife went out of town and let us use their student football tickets for the BYU vs. Oregon State game about a week ago. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Craig and Kylie for the tickets! We were on row 20 and it was a good game...until Oregon State caught our pass and ran it back at about 5 minutes left and got a touchdown, putting them 3 touchdowns ahead. That's when we left. :) It was a lot of fun though!!!
Trev and I outside the Stadium on our way out!
Bridal Veil Falls. Beautiful!
This little....friend...walked in front of us as we were going on the trail the other day. Cat Faced Spider. Gross. And HUGE! It was seriously like a mini-tarantula. But it was cool seeing one in real life, because I had just been looking them up the day before. A cool video I came across showing one in action...haha.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8VC0s2kDHM

Beautiful! i love FALL!!!

Our cute cute Pax again! He's one now ya know! :)
And those are some things we have been up to. :)
